Chef

Bart has recently completed an intense 12 week culinary course at the prestigious Ballymaloe cookery school after completing a season as a chef here in Morzine last year. Bart is extremely passionate about cooking & knows Morzine extremely well! 

We are so pleased to have Bart as part of the SpoonyCooks team this Winter! 

Bart grew up in Lincolnshire (the best county in England *winky face*), where good quality fresh produce is easy to come by & where artisanal food production is still an important fact of daily life. With this fantastic produce & his mother’s Malaysian inspirations where she grew up; Bart was lucky enough to be introduced to exotic and spiced foods at an early age, helping to develop a lifelong passion for world cuisine. This appreciation for ingredients and world food culture is what he loves to produce which drives his passion.   

 

Surprisingly, Bart became a chef following on from a career as a Health and Safety Co-ordinator working in international motorsport. Bart developed further passions for flavours from different cultures, as he worked on sites ranging from Singapore to Mexico. All of a sudden Health & Safety seems like a really cool job! However, Bart chose to head to Morzine where he was a chalet chef. He enjoyed this so much & found a deeper passion for food that he chose to dedicate his future career in catering, particularly private catering.

Bart spent time in commercial kitchens & worked at pop up events before deciding to fine tune his skills & enrol & complete a intense culinary cooking course at the prestigious Ballymaloe cookery school. 

 

Bart’s is now really pleased to come back to Morzine with his fantastic skills and show them off with us at SpoonyCooks. We are really pleased he has & were sure you will have a fantastic week with him in your chalet.

Rich is also the backbone to SpoonyCooks helping Sarah organise & coordinate the whole operation.
